Mark Steffens

Associate Director of Coaches Training and Mentoring with MAI

Steffens accepted the head coaching role with the Charlotte Eagles in 1997. He served in this role from 1997 to 2014. Under his direction, the club won two USL Championships. He was awarded the USL Coach of the Year award twice in 2004 and 2008 respectively. In 2007, he was named into the USL Hall of Fame. Much more important than Mark’s coaching accolades and accomplishments is the impact he has on the players he leads and coaches.

“I coach to help mold and shape young people’s character into the image of Jesus Christ. My Passion is to see young athletes unearth and polish their God-given talents in all of their lives, including excellence in soccer. With God’s help, I desire to help loving encouraging, and edifying family culture among the teams I work with.”

Philippians 2:3-4

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourself.

My Coaching Philosophy:

I coach to help mold and shape young people’s character into the image of Jesus Christ.
